If this doesn’t have the desired effect, your doctor may increase it to a maximum of 20mg.The dosage doesn’t affect how quickly the treatment works or how long it lasts. Taking a higher dose can increase your chance of experiencing side effects. Your medical history will also be taken into account when they’re deciding the appropriate dose.

What is tadalafil?

Tadalafil tablets are a reliable treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED), where men sometimes have issues getting or keeping an erection. Unlike many other ED treatments, it lasts up to 36 hours.

How does it work?

Tadalafil pills help you to get firmer, longer-lasting erections when you’re sexually aroused. The effects can last for up to 36 hours.

Like all erectile dysfunction treatments, tadalafil won’t resolve any underlying physical cause of your ED or increase the intensity of sexual desire.

How to use tadalafil

Take one tadalafil tablet at least 30 minutes before sex and the effects can last for up to 36 hours.

Don’t combine tadalafil with other ED medications and never take more than one tablet inside 36 hours. It becomes less effective when you drink alcohol.

Treatment results

Tadalafil is effective for treating ED in 80% of cases. While food doesn’t impact how tadalafil works, drinking more than 1-2 units of alcohol can make it less effective.

Before you consider a higher dose or look at other options, we recommend you try an ED treatment on at least eight separate occasions.

Side effects of tadalafil

It’s not common to get side effects from tadalafil, but for some men these can include:

Headache
Indigestion
Racing heartbeat (palpitations)
Light-headedness
Facial flushing
Nasal congestion
Muscle aches

These side effects shouldn't last for more than a few hours after taking a dose of tadalafil.
